Ten free minutes is not a debt you repay by meditating. Ten minutes is a slot, not a score. If you want to notice the body, Body Scan Meditation is 15 minutes. If you want to watch the breath without changing it, Breath Awareness is 10. If even that feels like too much, Box Breathing and Diaphragmatic Breathing are 5.
Pick the job, not the best session
Finish this sentence: for the next few minutes I want somewhere to put my attention. That is more useful than asking which practice is supposed to work.

If you have about ten minutes
Times are what the app lists. They are not a dose.

None of this today
Walk, look around the room, or stop. Ten free minutes is not a debt.
From the current ILMA session and plan records.
If 15 minutes is more than you have, do not squeeze Body Scan. Take a five-minute breath instead.
There is no session in the app called Anxiety Relief 10. If worry is why you opened ILMA, Breath Awareness, Coherent Breathing, or Nervous System Reset are optional ten-minute practices. Quiet Mind is a repeating plan with anxiety-relief days, not a one-off exercise.
NHS stress breathing is unforced and comfortable. Treat a session you can repeat as more useful than a one-off test.
Other short options
NSDR Protocol is also 10 minutes. Grounding Daily mixes 7 to 15 minute days if you want a short plan that is not only breath.
Times in the app are session lengths. They are not a proven dose for anxiety, sleep, or anything else.
Before you start
Ask whether inward attention feels workable today. If it does not, skip the session. Keep your eyes open, change position, or stop.
Meditation covers many methods, and the research is hard to mash into one result. A minority of people report negative experiences. You can leave.
If none of this fits
Ten free minutes do not create an obligation to meditate. If you feel faint, short of breath, panicked, or unwell, stop. Persistent anxiety, insomnia, or trauma symptoms need more than an app session. Speak to a GP or another qualified service. Urgent symptoms need urgent care.
Frequently asked questions
Is ten minutes enough?
It is enough to use a ten-minute session. This page does not claim ten minutes is the right dose.
Which practice is best for anxiety?
None of these is a treatment ranking. Choose an optional practice, not a substitute for care.
Why is the body scan 15 minutes?
Because that is how long Body Scan Meditation is in the app. Some plan days are shorter, but the standalone session is 15.
Can I take the five-minute option?
Yes. Sometimes that is the honest match.
