Do not listen while driving or operating machinery. Not a medical treatment. If you have epilepsy, consult your doctor before use.

How to Use

Lie down in a dark, quiet room. Use comfortable over-ear headphones at low volume. Close your eyes and breathe slowly. Let the tones wash over you without trying to focus on them. If the sound feels uncomfortable at any point, reduce the volume.

How It Works

Migraine pain involves abnormal cortical excitability — your brain's neurons are firing excessively and erratically. Delta and low theta frequencies (1-4 Hz) are associated with the brain's restorative state and reduced cortical excitability. This session uses very slow binaural beats to encourage your brain toward these calming frequencies, potentially reducing the neural hyperexcitability that contributes to migraine pain. The low carrier frequency and gentle volume are critical — loud or high-pitched sounds can worsen migraines. This is a complementary approach, not a replacement for medical treatment.

Frequency Guide

This session uses a gentle descent from alpha (10 Hz) through theta (6 Hz) down to delta (2 Hz). Low delta frequencies are associated with pain gate modulation and deep physical relaxation. The 150 Hz carrier is deliberately low to avoid auditory discomfort during a migraine.

Science & Research

Delta binaural beats have been studied for pain management. A 2019 study in the Journal of Neurological Sciences found that low-frequency binaural beats reduced perceived pain intensity. The parasympathetic activation from theta entrainment may help counteract the sympathetic overdrive common in migraines.

Tips

Keep volume very low — migraines increase sound sensitivity
Use brown noise ambient for the most gentle background
Try at the first sign of a migraine for best results
Combine with cold compress on forehead

Precautions

Not a substitute for medical treatment
Consult your doctor if migraines are frequent or severe
Stop immediately if symptoms worsen
Not recommended for epilepsy without medical advice
